Hi Matthiass, Hi Folks,

I was looking into the sample apps of TWL with the plan to use together with libgdx in the field of genomics. This combination looks promissing, because my requirement is to be somewhat cross platform between (win, lin, mac, android).

Maybe somebody would ask me why I would choose gui libraries from game dev. field. I do because most of the apps in the genomics fields looks like software development IDE, written in Swing, with a huge amount of control elements covering too much space from the screen and in the long run, somebody may get tendonitis while using the mouse with too small elements. So, it's the time to create a multi-touch gui where the control elements just hides when not used, but easily are there. I think that even a 10" tablet running on an Android can have better usability in term of navigation required to drill down, search for, bookmark, navigate the graphical representation of the genome alignments. Something like this can be designed only using a solid opengl backed software stack. I think libgdx & TWL & lwjgl together keep peace with the classic desktop platforms too. That's the idea.

And now about the starting point. We used to work with Maven, so it would be a good idea for me to keep the artifacts with sources in that form. Is there an utility like libgdx mavenizer which helps you pass through this step?

Another question is about the status of TWL in term of version numbers or completeness(stability)? I just see the history in mercurial.

Cheers,
Tibor

TWL is very flexible - should be no issue to create such a user interface with it.

There are no version numbers - except the one from mercurial which is also stored in the version.txt.

I don't use Maven.

Even if I saw the flexibility by looking into examples, your confirmation is an extra. Thx!

In principle I understand the reasons not using Maven. Those, like me, who are using they only have to package the jars and sources and upload to a "thirdparty" repo, then can live with it.
