It's pretty good.

I think you definately need to implement the ball accleration. IE make the ball go faster with each bounce.
Also, the trajectory of the ball seems a bit strange. It only ever bounces with fixed angles. Maybe you should make it bounce within a range of angles so that it's less predictable.

Well most pong games set the angle of ball as a function of the distance from the centre of the paddle when the ball hits. For example if you hit the ball with the edge of the paddle the the angle is large, if you hit the ball with the centre of the paddle then the angle is small. This is how yours works at the moment but you are somehow using discreet angles rather than a range of angles. For example if the distance ranges from -50,0,50 then the angle of the ball should range from -45,-,45.

If you want to post it as a tutorial the Wiki is probably the best place. If you just want to put the source up then as a ZIP on myjavaserver is probably fine :)

I think a tutorial would be great for Slick, especially based around a game like this. However, it's probably quite a bit of work to put the tutorial together.
