To those who are not yet aware, Slick is undergoing changes. Kevglass, the original author of Slick, is no longer maintaining the library. Some of us volunteered to keep slick alive, update bugs as they come along, and generally try to pack some more functionality into Slick. If you want to help contribute to Slick, you can pull source code, make changes, add Javadocs, and so forth using Bitbucket, which is the new repo for Slick:https://bitbucket.org/kevglass/slick
You are also free to post ideas/suggestions in the development forums:viewforum.php?f=26viewforum.php?f=27
Currently the devs are working in the "development branch" on the repo to make changes and play around with new ideas. For information on getting the latest code, see this guide:Pulling and Building The Latest Version of Slick
At some point soon, the website will be replaced, the development branch will be merged with the main branch, and Slick will be distributed as a binary download on the website.
Thanks for being patient; us devs are here as volunteers, after all.UPDATE:
Liam is taking the reigns with the new website, which you can find here:http://www.slick2d.org/
It's still a work in progress, but it's already looking good. It also contains a downloadable JAR if you'd rather not go through the process of pulling from Mercurial.UPDATE 2:
I am no longer maintaining Slick as I'm now working on contributing to LibGDX
. It's a very powerful library that doesn't have too steep a learning curve; I'd highly recommend it to those just getting started with Java game development.
