Whew! Just over 8 days left. Honestly, I haven't even worked on game logic since my last post.

Although, today I did finish my level design. I'd like to show it off, but that would be giving away "the solution".

I like working to a deadline :) I've heard that it brings out all kinds of creativity.

Yes like how to recover your computer data from a PC that was in a room that flooded, now that will be creative :D

Just lost all my work, back to square one, now this will be a challenge, just glad I'll get another hour on daylights saving :P.

Anyway project "dipsomaniacs" has a name now, I call it "Pirates of the CaraBeer", i'll upload screenshots this weekend.

I'm not even close to finishing the game, but I'm fairly confident I can make it before the deadline.

Here is a sneak peek at the current progress:

Image

It's a small victory for me, using Phys2D and Slick and having them work well together.

Next up, adding the creatures to the game and giving them some basic intelligence. I've found at least one bug with my G2DP library that I would like to fix for this game (foreground tiles not redrawing) but that comes last. I have to remind myself what is a priority.

I'm not going to make it in time I'm afraid :( - started off good the first 2 weeks, but then had too much other stuff on my plate week 3 and lost all my momentum... no way I can still finish now...

At least I learnt quite a bit about Tiled maps, so not a complete loss ;)!

Good luck to everybody else - looking forward to testing out more beer games!

Well its actually exams next week so I only got 2 days of coding into this (and 5 minutes of programmer art).

Its a jar file only, not even worth the webstart.

The storyline:
There are heaps of drunks jumping up and down. No-one likes drunks, with their beer mugs that they balance on their head, and what not. They are making a ruckus, so give them a taste of their own medicine, but don't get squashed!

Keys:
A left, D right, RSHIFT to jump.

So I need somewhere to upload...

After the intro you can move with
a - left
w - top
d - right
s - down

With the left mouse button you can shot.
The right mouse button is a mega-blast, but only if your agro is high enough.
On the left side you see two bars...health and agro...
Ok...survive :-)

Sound from:

Music form Goto80:
http://www.8bitpeoples.com/discography?show=all

All creative commons - i hope is it ok...

While playing (after intro) you can try F1 - F6.
F1 - Collision range
F2 - Collisions
F3 - Position
F4 - Rotation
F5 - Commands
F6 - Dynamic-Quad-Tree visual...

The source comes in the next days...
