Hello all.

I'm trying to follow the tutorial here but it may be out of date or I'm interpreting the instructions incorrectly.

I've reached the 'Composite backgrounds' section and after following it down to where the image of the button is, I'm left with a hole in my preview.

'box bg' was copied from box, has the params from the tut changed as indicated but it's the centre of this ninepatch that is missing.

Any help greatly appreciated.

From that image I can't see what caused this - can you paste the theme?

Well - for "box bg" you have nocenter=true :)

I see. The tutorial tells you to dupe the other area node, which has No Center set and it doesn't tell you to turn it off. I believe I tried this as well but turning it off doesn't seem to update the preview, it just stays off.

I ran into a few problems trying to turn it off, actually. Every time the program crashed with an error.
To recreate:
Start new project
Add an image node.
Add an area node to that.
Set the No Center on.
Duplicate the area node.
Turn off No Center in the new node for an immediate crash.

I managed to sort it out by manually editing the xml, thanks for your help and the work you've done on this.

Following on the tutorial I've found that I can't see text in the preview for an EditField.

The tut says to just click and type in it but that doesn't work. Neither does placing some text in the widget params. I can't see a cursor and can't test selections without any text.

I havn't tested this in my code yet so not sure what's going on but here's the XML, if it matters.

Hello,

I could replicate that crash and was able to fix it.

About the EditField - the "renderer" sub theme is missing for the EditField. It seems you put it after the "editfield" instead of inside.

Regards
Matthias
