Theme: Beer - yes, beer. Anything related to beer: in gameplay, into story.. all type of game are accepted, must be original and done only for this contest.

By contest announcements, you mean the publication of the winners? In which case I think you mean 5/11/2009.


Must the game be created by one person, or can there be teams? Can a developer/team enter more than one game? Why limit the number of developers/teams?

Maybe if a contest was published by the kev himself, then more people would enter.

Definitely a great idea! Love the theme too!.

Am I allowed to compete?

Beer game.... anyone got any ideas? Shooting gallery with beer cans? A game where you have to transfer beer in your gut, but the more you take each time the harder it is to walk? Beer Tycoon? Beer themed puzzles?

Sounds brilliant to me!

Needs prizes tho. How about a beer related t-shirt or something? I can probably fork out the cash for it

Thinking about it, you probably want to make the min participants 5 since probably 1 or 2 won't finish a game.

Incidently, I've been really impressed with the way the community is working out - as you've noticed I'm a bit distracted at the moment so to see everyone still producing cool stuff and getting on is great. Ok, gushy moment over

Hmmm.... Interesting. Timing is bad, but I might be able to whip something small up.

I don't really want to give the judges my source code. :3

I think the tshirt should have something really big and cool on the front, such as a picture of the winning game, and, a list of the top so-many entries on the back, with small icons/urls, similar to the tshirts you see when a band goes on tour. haha.

No more bad ideas from me for a while.

Some ideas:

* Drunk driving, controls get less responsive over time, screen gets hazy
* Drunk platforming, same idea but everyone likes platformers
* Drunken Fighter, rag doll physics, doll's joints get looser as drunk meter goes up
* Bar hopper, a puzzle game around the traveling salesmen problem
* Keg wars, artillery game where you launch kegs or other alcohol containers
* Bartender, action-puzzle game where you have to fill orders in the right order, timing counts since drinker's want more/less head
* Beer drinking mini-game, press a button to drink the beer, it refills, repeat, maybe set to music or against a second player, pressing button too soon knocks over glass

Now I want to whip something together Feel free to copy any of these ideas if you like them.

EDIT:

I think it's obvious the winner should win some type of alcohol (whenever national laws don't prevent this). Git Hub recently had a contest w/ a similar prize. Anyone have a favorite beer they'd like to nominate?

Why not, if I get time I think a Beer Pac-Man should be fun .

You need to have a blur shader here, that gets progressively worse as you get closer to drinking all of the beer.
